Course Details
Join me for a gentle morning of hand stitching and learn all about couching. This wonderful technique is one of my favourites and involves laying down threads on top of fabric and then stitching them down using a variety of techniques. Couching offers infinite possibilities in variety and is quick and easy to do. Focusing on quality of line, we will begin by looking at where to find inspiration for design in the natural environment. Then we will try out a range of different threads and other interesting materials to practice couching down. We will also look at the variety of methods you can use to attach the line to the background fabric using different types of stitches. You will make a beautiful small sampler of techniques and leave feeling inspired by the possibilities that couching has to offer. All materials supplied, this workshop is suitable for beginners in hand stitching, or those with some experience who are looking for inspiration and the chance to experiment further.

The full fee must be made upon booking to secure your place. If you are unable to attend the workshop and it’s more than 3 weeks in advance of the start date, then I will send a refund to the original payment source. If cancellation is within 3 weeks of your workshop, I am unable to offer a refund unless I can fill your space, or the course is cancelled. Refreshments will be provided free of charge (tea, coffee and biscuits). Most materials are usually provided free of charge (unless otherwise stated), but any additional requirements will emailed to you in advance of the course.
