Textile Art - Print and Stitch Book

Course Details

Join me for this introduction to "textile art" to print, stitch and construct your very own miniature sample book. Over the course of five weeks, we will experiment with fun and different ways to mark and print fabric, which we'll use to collage and stitch together a gorgeous unique book. We will spend the first few weeks exploring techniques such as marbling, gelli printing and stamping to create your very own "stash" of fabric to use for your book. Next I'll introduce you to the technique of "wet lamination", when we'll arrange and collage our fabric together, before cutting out the pages. Spend time learning new techniques in stitching and embellishment, to make each page a little work of art in it's own right. Finally I will show you how to construct your book to make a beautiful keep sake item, which you will enjoy looking at for years to come. Suitable for complete beginners, or those with more experience, come and join me in a small, friendly group for lots of fun, relaxation and experimentation. All materials are provided.
